NSSF LAUNCHES CORPORATE STRATEGIC PLAN FOR THE YEAR 2019 – 2022

The Board of Trustees and Management of the National Social Security Fund (NSSF) launched its Strategic Plan for the period 2019-2022 and certification to an Integrated Management System (ISO 9001:2015, KMS 30401:2018 and ISMS/IEC 27001:2013) on November 1st, 2019 at the Crowne Plaza Nairobi.

The Plan, premised on the Kenyan Constitution, vision 2030, the national medium term plan and the NSSF Act No. 45 of 2013 is focused on re-engineering the Fund while efficiently redeploying resources to achieve its three year medium term strategic objectives. The P.S Social Protection Nelson Marwa read the message on behalf of Labour C.S Amb. Ukur Yatani the chief guest. The CEO KEBS Ltd Col (Rtd) Benard Njiraini, ISO President Mr. Eddy Njoroge, NSSF Trustees Mark Obuya and Prof. Marion Mutugi were present and witnessed the launch.
“In view of the Critical role NSSF plays in the economy through the mobilization of savings and reduction of savings in old age this CSP will guide the Fund’s implementation of its objectives.” Said P.S Marwa.
The strategic plan is guided by six thematic areas which are: Growth, Culture and Governance, Customer Engagements and Service Delivery, Competitive Products and Services, Re-Engineering Internal Processes and Corporate Image (Brand).
“In launching this Plan, we hope to effectively and efficiently address ourselves to our current challenges and in the process transform the Fund into a robust, customer centric and high performing institution as envisaged in the NSSF Act No. 45 of 2013.” Said Rtd Gen. Dr. Julius Karangi
He continued on to say that: “The Fund’s board is confident that this Corporate Strategic Plan is transformative and will equivalently aim at improving the lives of Kenyans through payment of adequate and competitive benefits and investments that support national development and the affordable housing section on the Big 4 agenda.”
NSSF also becomes the first Public Sector Institution to be certified on the Integrated Management System (IMS) and the first organization to be certified by KEBS on the knowledge management standard.

Speaking at the launch, NSSF Ag. Managing Trustee Dr. Anthony Omerikwa said that the plan will facilitate the re-engineering of the Fund into a more stronger, customer centered and well performing institution as projected in the new mission, vision and core values.
“The recently acquired Integrated Management System will also position the Fund to embrace a new set of values that together, are designed to win the trust of all stakeholders and secure its leadership position.” the MT Said.
