NSSF Partners with Safaricom on Tenant Purchase Scheme (T.P.S) Payments

The National Social Security Fund (NSSF) this week partnered with Safaricom PLC to enable customers on the NSSF Tenant Purchase Scheme (TPS) to make rent and service charge payments through their M-PESA accounts. With this cashless payment solution, members will no longer have to travel or queue at the bank to make payments.

To make a payment, customers can dial *303*3#, key in their details and make payments from their M-PESA account.

Speaking at the launch, Safaricom’s Chief Financial Services Officer, Sitoyo Lopokoiyit said that the partnership has ushered a new era for the TPS customers empowering them to make payments from their comfort and convenience.
“Convenience and speed continue to be a key concern when making payments and this has continued to drive the demand for M-PESA among our customers,” He added

TPS members in Nairobi’s Nyayo Estate, Embakasi, Kitusuru, Mount View, Hazina Estate South B and other NSSF properties across the country will benefit from this arrangement.

“NSSF has adopted a strategy to go digital to place all our services at the fingertips of our customers, ensuring that we meet them wherever they are and at their own convenience. Partnering with Safaricom has made it possible to achieve this goal by taking advantage of the unique, world-class capabilities they provide through M-PESA,” said Dr. Anthony Omerikwa, CEO, NSSF.

Besides payments, the new service also provides the Scheme members with the capability to reconcile, generate reports and statements of their payments.
